DESCRIPTION

This Easter our egg will be Apollo shaped with a BRAND-NEW Planetarium show!

Join the National Space Centre for a journey that, 50 years ago, landed humans on the Moon.

The Apollo space programme is one of the greatest achievements of humankind. It saw one giant leap in not only exploration, but also science that has impacted on our lives more often than we realise.

Thirty-two astronauts were assigned to fly in the Apollo manned lunar landing program. Twenty-four of them, flying on nine different missions, reached an orbit around the Moon and twelve stepped onto the lunar surface.

Come and discover what it took to get there and what it will take to go back.

Apollo 9: Around the Moon

From big bangs to faecal bags, this explosive presentation will use rocket science and our artefact collection to highlight how humankind landed on the Moon

Build a Lunar Module

Can you find the perfect landing site on our giant map of the Moon?

Build a Moon Orbiter

Come and construct your own Lunar Module Orbiter.

BRAND NEW FOR EASTER… CAPCOM GO!

An immersive fulldome show celebrating the Apollo Space programme.

Take a seat in the UKs largest Planetarium to see this brand-new show.

From the National Space Centre based multi award-winning fulldome show producers comes ‘CAPCOM GO! The Apollo Story’.

CAPCOM GO! showcases the achievements of the Apollo program and what it took to put the first human on the Moon.

It will introduce a new generation to the immense challenges they overcame and will inspire them to become the explorers, designers, engineers, thinkers and dreamers of the future.
