Sunday 5th August 10am-5pm
Join the Portsmouth DarkFest team for a day of fun viral
video production activities. Collaborate with writers, artists, filmmakers, and
performers, learn what makes a good viral video, shoot and perform in your own
The aim of the day is to produce a series of short viral
videos promoting this year’s Portsmouth DarkFest in advance of this year’s
festival. The day will start with a short talk on the qualities of a good viral
video, followed by the workshopping of creative ideas. We will then split into
production teams to write, rehearse and shoot your videos.
At the end of the day the team will take your videos away,
edit them, brand them and launch the festival with them in October/November
Portsmouth DarkFest is a cultural festival that celebrates
the supernatural, the weird, and urban noir. Inspired by the Supernatural
Cities project at the University of Portsmouth, and working in close
collaboration with Portsmouth Writers’ Hub and artists from the
local community, the first festival ran in venues across Portsmouth and
Southsea between late October and late November 2016.
Suitable for: writers, artists, filmmakers, costumiers,
makers, performers, actors, or anyone who wants to have some fun and produce
What do you need to bring with you: nothing but your own
creativity is needed but you can bring video cameras, costumes, make-up, props,
anything you think might be useful?
