Eyton RacesHorse Racing
The Point-to-Point at Eyton is an amateur form of steeple chasing, set in beautiful rural Shropshire, with panoramic views of Wenlock Edge and views over to The Wrekin and the Long Mynd. A popular venue for local jockeys, this year sees the return of many experienced point-to-point riders as well as a host of new, young jockeys, hoping for wins for the first time at Eyton.
James Tanner, Chairman of the South Shropshire Point-to-Point Committee commented, "For 93 years Eyton has been a firm favourite for all in the racing calendar. We are looking forward to an exciting race day, with something for everyone – whether they enjoy the thrill of the races, betting on the horses, the superb food, or the funfair!
"We can't think of a better way to enjoy the May bank holiday with a fantastic family day out in the glorious Shropshire countryside. We would like to thank our sponsors, organisers and helpers for their continued support, and we hope that, whatever the weather, people will come to Eyton races and enjoy a great day out."
The gate opens at 11am, with the first race taking place at 2:00pm and the last at 5:05pm. Admission is £10 and free for under 16’s. Dogs on a lead are welcome, and car parking is free.
