COVENTRY HISTORY GALLERY
Uncover the story of our city and its people from the medieval period to the present day through a staggering array of objects, photographs, films and personal memories.

PEACE & RECONCILIATION
Understand the city's wartime experiences and the links forged with other cities out of the shared experience of war. Find out how Coventry’s role in peace and reconciliation continues today.

DISCOVER GODIVA
Explore the legend of Lady Godiva's famous naked ride through Coventry in this family friendly gallery including other mythical tales, storytelling and dressing up items.

VISUAL ARTS
Be amazed by the great works of art in our collections from traditional oil paintings in the Old Masters gallery to those representing the spirit of the Herbert's original collection in Art Since 1900. Our fine range of sculptures includes works by great British artists of the 20th century such as Barbara Hepworth and Jacob Epstein.

ELEMENTS
This exhibition celebrates nature by encouraging visitors to engage with natural objects and landscapes in highly creative and multi-sensory ways.

Our extensive collections contain hundreds of thousands of items. We have created What's In Store to offer access to many of the items which are rarely on public display.

At  Coventry inner ring-road, turn off at Junction 3 or 5 and follow the brown signs for the Herbert. There are several Pay & Display car parks available within walking distance. For directions using sat-nav or route planners use the postcode CV1 5QP. Alternatively a park and ride service for the city centre is operated from War Memorial Park, Kenilworth Road in the south of the City.

By Bus
All buses terminate in the city centre, and most buses stop at Pool Meadow bus station. The Herbert is approximately 5 minutes walk from Pool Meadow, and 10 minutes from most other stopping places in the city centre. There are signposts across the city directing people to the Herbert, and we are situated next to the Cathedral so are easy to find. Most bus services in Coventry and the surrounding areas are operated by National Express.

From Coventry station it is a 10 - 15 minute walk into the city centre. Buses and taxis are also available from the railway station.
