DESCRIPTION

Chester Zoo is home to over 21,000 endangered and exotic animals based in beautiful, award-winning gardens. With 500 different animal species in our 125 acres, you’re sure to have an adventure discovering and learning about our amazing animals and gardens.

Conservation and education are at the heart of everything we do at Chester Zoo. We are committed to providing the highest standards of care for our animals, as well as protecting native and international wildlife. Our team of expert and knowledgeable staff work hard to care for our animals and support conservation, but are also passionate about connecting our visitors to the natural world. We have a variety of tours and hands-on experiences, as well as daily animal talks to guarantee your day is full of animal adventure.

Stop for a snack at one of our many restaurants, cafes and kiosks located throughout the zoo or let the kids run wild in one of our adventure play areas. We’re a huge zoo, but we’ve got plenty of options for getting around including our Zoofari Monorail and our Lazy River Boat Trip. Don’t forget to stop in at the gift shop on your way out for a souvenir of your trip.

For information about opening times and prices, please visit our website (prices and opening times vary throughout the year).

We're sorry but for the wellbeing of our animals we can’t allow entry for your pets (except sensory dogs). A day out with us is a full day out, so please don't leave dogs or pets in your car.

DIRECTIONS

DIRECTIONS & WHERE TO STAY

There are lots of ways to get to the zoo. We'd love it if you could travel by public transport so we've got all the info and some great deals if you're coming by bike, bus, train or on foot.If you decide to come by car there's plenty of FREE parking right by the main entrance. Take a look at where we are on this map. Once you get onto the A41, from whichever direction, simply stay on that road until you reach a roundabout with a large wooden ark on it. From there follow the signs into the zoo. Sat Navs get confused so please ignore them once you get onto the A41! Do not turn down Flag Lane North as it is a dead end.
